The firat wool sale of the season was held to-day, some 8185 bales being catalogued. About 1900 were passed. There was a sharp fall all round, the highest price being 7Jd against la at the corresponding sale last year. Fine wool showed a fall of 3d to 4d, coarse 2d to 2£d, inferior nearly 3d. The following were the average prioos offered Merino and half-bred, 5d to o|d: cross-brel, Ono, 4{d to S£d; cross-bred, coarse, id to 4}d; Lincoln, 4d to 4£d; lo{-itained and U'>tted, 3d to 3J(i; bellies and pieoes, 2d to 3Jd; looks, ,ld to l^d.
