Ten thousand Boxers and regular troops who were besieging 20 missionaries and 300 Chinese converts in Eastern Mongolia, were defeated, mainly through the splendid assistance of Russian bluejackets with quickfirers from Shanbaikwan. De Giers, tbe Russian Minister, has withdrawn bis conßeut to the death penalty on the high officials and princes. He is pressing Ministers only to icsist that these officials be puuished in a manner acceptable to the Powers and emphasises Russia's friendship to China. 10,000 TROOPS JOIN REBELLION AGAINST THE EMPEROR.
