THE UNITED FIRE AND MARINE INSURANCE COMPANY.

At the annual meeting held at Sydney on 20th October, the following raport of the Company's business for the year ended 30th September, 1900, was submitted and approved:—The total revenue for the year, including balance brought forward from previous year, was .£138,981 4s 7d, and the expenditure .£123,964 10s 9, leaving a surplus of £15,016 13s lOd, which it has been determined .to dispose of as follows: To payment of dividend, £6,822 lis 4d, less interim dividend, April, 1900, £3411 5s 8i; to reserve fund (now £56,000), £500; balance carried forward to next; year, £11,105 8s 2d. The paid-up capital and reßerve now amount to £148,225 12s 6d. Mr. I James Ewan and Mr, Thomas Forster j Unox were re--loa**d directors, and Messrs. F. T. Watkins and John B. O. Miles auditors.
