Several foists were sold at prices ranging from LI to L 5 10s for hacks, and L 8 6s to Lll for harness horses. At the Mart, fowls made Is to Is lid; bacon, 4Jd to 61. A quantity of furniture and sundries made low rates. Cattle.—At Waiwakaiho, on Tuesday, the boisteious weather interfered with both muster of stock and attendance of buyers. The yards, however, were fairly filled, and bidding for all lines was brisk. Xonug cattle continued to meet with good enquiry, and nearly all sold at late values. Store cows were well competed for, and were all sold at the hammer. I quote: Calves, LI Is to LI 17s; yearlings, L2 Is Sd to L2 7s 6d; 2£ to 3-year bnllooks, L 4 Us 6d; store cows, hi 16s te L 3 10s; springers, L3los to H7s 6d; empty heifers, L2 16s 6d to LS 7s. In Auckland mining, Monowais have declined to sellers at 3s 6d; Waihi Extended have made a considerable rise to 2s Bd, with sellers at 3s, the developments ip the Waihi justifying increased confidence in the reef system passing through the Waihi Extended, Dredging has been much hampered by the recent exceptional floods, which have fortunately not done any serious damage, but will entail further delay in developing claims.
