A GRIEVANCE EXPLAINED.
Seiuods complaints were mado to 3s regarding alleged deltiy in iha transmission of telegrams from Nat? Plymouth on Wednesday, all wires Laving to be prepaid urgent, aud in 012? ms-* it was stated that a wico'for Christchurch was refused altogether, although marked urgent. At the same time, it was stated that ordinary wires, addressed to Now Plymouth, were iccepted and forwarded in Wellington, We saw the Chief Postmaster on the subject, and found that on the 30th October, at 8 a.m., he was instructed as followsßefuse all work for stations south of Blenheim, and all but urgent for stations north of Wellington, E«st and West Coasts." At 10.45 on the 31st" lief use all bat urgents for all stations south of Marten and osst of Palmerston North, this includes Auckland district." At 11,40 a.vn.: Refusa all ™ork for all stations south und east of Palmerston North, this includes Auckland distriet," Tho Chief Postmaster further says that although Now Plymouth was cut off from Aucklann, Wellington had connojtion by means of the capper wino, last erected, running through New Plymouth to Auckland via Awakiao; but to this he was not allowed to connect.
