Reid, who has .assumed the position of Solicitor-General for a great many yean, has terminated hii immediate connection with the Civil Service to-day, and has retired on a pension of .£SOO per annum. Mr. Fitchett, who for some time past has been the Parliamentary law draughtsman, now becomes Solicitor-General.
