Note—The "M " Manure gave the best results in proportion to cost out of 19 experiments with Champion Swede Turnips at the Government Kxpenmental Farm at Momohaki in 1897 Isee page 170, Fifth Report of Agricultural Dipartrneat) : The experiments made at Momohaki with various Manures upon Turnips in the Season 1898-99 show that ihe nwr result was obtansd from a mixture of one-third ataamel bone dint and two-tnirds bas : c slag (Thomas' Phosphate), whilst the best ram't, at a minimum cos r , was from a aiixture of one-third Lawes' Superphosphate and two-thirds of th* vV.M E Ci'b "M" Manure. The latter mixture codtains thesame copponents as the W. M ill. Co.'a No. 3 Mixture, t-eproportions otiig a little differe it. The former combination points to the fat, now generally recognised, that the value of bade slug, also known as Thomas' Phosphate, has 1-een greatly under-estimated. The W.M.E. Uo.'s J\'o 4 Mixture contains one-third of Thomas' Phospha'e. A perusal of the rapoit of Mr. Oillandern, the manager »t Momohaki, embodying the resul-s uf the experiments refined to, which will be found it the Seventh Kcfor> of tho Dapar'.ment of Agriculture, wanld amply rep»y any fannur who findi a difficulty in selecting the most tu'table manures.
