LABGK REDUCTIONS IN VIEW OF FEDERATION OUTLINED. [FXB PRESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received 10, 1.13 a.m.) Melboubhx, September 18, The Premier speaking at Bairnsdale to-night outlined the Government programme dealing with parliamentary reform necessitated by Federation. He proposed to reduce the State Governor's salary by X2OOO a year. The number of salaried Ministers from ten to eight, thus saving another ,£2OOO. The Bumber of members of the Assembly to 80, saving .£4500 annually, and members of the Legislative Council to 40. The eld age pensions would bp given a prominent position and womanhood suffrage favoured.
