SCHOOL COMMISSIONERS.

The School Commissioners met on Friday. 1 Present: Messrs. K. Oock (chairman), Stock, Wade, and Faull. The resolution passed at the last meeting with reference to a surrender by Mr. J!'. P. Uorkill of his lease of sections 11)89, 1751, 1753, 2333 and part-sections 16110, 1714, 1732,1733, 1750, 1762,1774,1775, and 1770, and part allotment P., Mew Plymouth, and the grant of new leases was confirmed. Pursuant to notice, the Chairman moved that section E, town of New Plymouth, be offered for lease by public tender for 21 years, with right of renewal every 21 year, at rentals to be lixed by arbitration and based on the unimproved value of the land, the rent for the first term to be that offered by the highest tenderers if not less than £2 10s —the tenant to make substantial permanent improvements of not less than £2OO within two years—Tho motion was soconded by Mr. Stock, and carried, [this section ia one that is required for a bathing place.] Tho Treasurer reported a Bank balance of £662 Is 3d. A letter from W. Duirs was referred to the Board's Solicitor, the chairman to cause a reply to be sent after receiving Mr. Samuel's opinion. Authority was given for the transfer by F. P. Oorkill to Henry Bedford of his lease of section 1689 and part section 1690, Mew Plymouth. The Board's Solicitor is to bo requested to report on the title of bloeks 48 and S3, Raleigh East. Accounts were passod and the Board rose.
