Wo also roport selling privately, on aocotmt o£ Mr. W. Crump, Tikorangi, a lino of 100 fine storo bullocks at equal to L 6. DAIRY PRODUCE REPORT. Wo have to acknowledge par favour of tho Manager of the Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company, Stratford, a copy of Messrs Mathio and McWilliam's report, as follows: —Butter.—We have to report a continued strong demand in all our markets, and since our last report prices have adrancod considerably. Values have now however reached a point at which many buyers fear to go on, and business is taking a more hand to mouth character. As stocks in all the cold stores of the United Kingdom are now very light, we do not think prices will show any weakening tendency for some little time. Supplies of Irish Creamery are not now so large, and sellers are very firm in their ideas of value. Canadian Creamery is coming to hand much more freely, and the quality of some brands is specially choice. The recent small arrivals from New Zealand have commanded very satisfactory prices. The season, now practically closed, has been a long one, and has demonstrated two important facta, the first, that owing to the cboiceness of the butters, buyers all round have acknowledged the very great improvement in quality, especially in the New Zealand article, and their former prejudices have been removed. Then in tha second place, that notwithstanding tho keen competilioj from new made summer butters at Homo and from the Continent, that the Colonial butters havo arrived in tho height of our summer season and found a ready market at satisfactory prices. The Copenhagen Committee again advanced the official quotation last week, and the cable comes this week unchanged. After a spell of warm dry weather most suitable for harvest operations, rain has set in and the weather has become distinctly colder. Out-door labour has therefore in a measure had to bo suspended. This week's prices.—Choicest Danish, 122s to 121s; finest, 115s to 116s; Choicest Dutch Creamery, 112s to 114s; Choioost Iris!) Creamery, Il2s to 114s; Choicest Canadian Creamery, l?6s to 108s; Choicest Russian Creamery, 104s to lOtis. Ohceae,—■ There has been a strong tone in all our markets fi uring the last fortnight, and prices for Canadian and Home have been advanced. Buying lias been on a muob f eorscile than of ista, and Hie retail shopkeepers finding that values would not fall to that piint which permits of a 6d per tb. price, have now more confidence in tbu market, and are inclined to carry some stock. [ Home Cheddars and Dunlops hav* met a good sale, and farmers are very firm in their ideas of value. Canadians have also experienced a strong market and are held for firmer prices. Stocks of New Zealand are now almost exhausted, and parcels of really choice quality are held for higher prices : Home Cheddars, C2s to Gls; Home Dunlops, 60s to 625; Fi.est Canadian, S3s to 51s; Finest New Zealand, 56s to 58i. Canned Meats.—A firmer tone is experienced in all our markets, and for wellKnown brands prices are firm. Stocks'of all kinds are very bare. Colonial corned mutton is iu active request at laxt prices, and beef is now more inquired for, The large requirements for milita-y operations in South Afrioa and China have practically cleared the market of available quantities, and shipments to arrive from Amerioa and the colonies are well taken up.
