' Napier, September 26. 1 There was aa imposing ceremony'at ' the unveiling of the monument erected to the memory of the ten men who lost • their lives in an attempt to save others ! in the Easter flood of 1897. The Mayor, 1 the Bishop of Waiapu, and Deans ! Hovell and Grogen were the principal 5 speakers. It js 55 feet high, and occu- ' pies a prominent positionat the junction of the Marine Parade and Browning--1 street.
