The Pollards have every reawn to be satisfied with the reception they received in New Plymouth last night, the Theatre Royal " being simply packed, People came from every part of the district, Waitara, Inglewood, Alidhirst, and even Stratford and b awera sending their quota. The tendering of the beautiful opera Maritana was quite a treat and proved that the Company can handle legitimate opera with equal success to that which has attended their efforts in comic opera. The extraordinary pressure on our space prevents our giving, as the Company well deserve, a full report, but when we say that tbe Company quite played up to their reputation our readers will value the great merit of the performance. The meeting of lidies convened by Mr. Oockrill was held on Friday afternoon, and was well attended.
