STOKE ENQUIRY.

' e [PBB PBBSS ASSOCIATION.] Nelson, September 21. In the Stoke Industrial School charges Brother Eilian was charged with assaulting the boy Davis by striking him in the eye, and was committed for trial. Bail was allowed, himself £SO and two sureties at £25 each, which was forthcoming. Brother Wibertns was charged with committing an act of indecency with respect to the boy. The charge was laid under the Criminal Oode, and the Court was cleared, the evidence being unfit for publication. Two lads corroborated to the extent that there was oppoitunity for the offence. Evidence will be continued to-morrow. Accused was admitted to bail, himself in £IOO and one surety in £SO. During the proceedings Brother Wibertns received information of the death of his father in Belginm.
