Ox Friday, the 28th inst., the Guards will be inspected by Oolonel PolePenton. In view of this f unotion there will be a full-dress special inspection parade on Friday, 21st, at 7.30 p.m., when members of the corps not attending will be fined. Leggiugs and water bottles must be obtained from Oolore'ergeant Waldu at the orderly-room this week. It is to be hoped that belts will be issued before the Colonel's visit. The Taranaki Rifles will also be inspected on the 28th inst. by Oolonel Pole-Penton. j
The first competition for prizes by ihe Taranaki Rifles will be held at the Frankley Road range to-day. The following additional handicaps have been declared by the shooting committee : Ist Class—Corporal Smith and the following honorary members: Messrs W. F. Brooking, J. B. Connett, M. Oarriek, F. P. Oorkill, E. Dookrill, J. 0. George, Newton King, A. Lealsnd, N. K. MacDiarmid, J. S. McKellar, J. Paul, J. B. Roy, W. H. Skinner, 0. Samuel, F. L. Webster, Drs. Leatham and Walker, Chaplain Evans, and Surgeon-Captain McOleland.
