Commandant De Larey's casualties in an engagement with General Clements were 40. General Hart's mounted troops covered 45 miles and the Infantry 35 miles without a break, surprising and occupying Potchefetroom. A number of Boers at dawn rode out, not suspecting the proximity of the British, and were caught. The War Office has ordered 5600 tons of New Zealand oats for South Africa.
