Tho Board appointed to enquire into :;■: the deterioration of Victorian butter Lave presented a. lengthy report, , : Among other things they recommend that it the supplies of butter to the \ English marke.. are upload out mora 4' the price will be improved. Observation shows there in room for much improvement in the quality of tho butter, and the Board thiukg that the the Government should assist by loau to country factories. It considers the city factories are an anomaly. It urge* that the formation of dairy school*, systematic inspection, pasteurising cream, and the use of pure starters, be made universal throughout the colony <* speedily as possible. The Board * further recommend that a Federal or Australasia ollicer be appointed to keup a record in London of tho quality of AusUuk-iaii butter and other produe-, and suggest the employment of intelligent market metitods mid 4 proper regulation of supplies, at well M the appointment of a committee, similar to the Danish committee, to watch the markets.
