IN THE ORANGE RIVER COLONY.
BOERS INVESTING LADYBRAND. (Received 5,10.55 a.m.) London, September 4. Grobehar's, Pourie's, L9mmer's, and ' Saseb-ock's commandoes are besieging Ladybrand. They have commandeered all able ' bodied men and threaten to burn re- ' calcitrants' dwellings. Two hundred of Therou's commando of mixed nationalities are assisting in looting farmers and storekeepers. There is a large commando on the Vet River. COLONIAL INVALIDS ENTERTAINED AT WINDSOR, Received 5, 9.12 a m. j London, September 4. Captain Arthur Stourton took a party of invalided Canadians, Australians, and New Zealanders to Windsor, where the Mayor entertained them at luncheon. Private Maxted, of New South' Wales, asserted that the hospital patients at Bloemfontoin were treated as well as the transport arrangements permitted. The party were shown over Windsor Castle, the Queen's dairy farm, and the Royal gardens. The Queen herself, hearing of the visit, direeted that it should be made as pleasant as possible. RELEASED COLONIAL PRISONERS. London, September 4. The following belonging to the colonial mounted forces, who were taken prisoners, have returned to Warmbaths : —Sergt. A. Lestrange, a New Zealander; Privates Maxwell and Hanson, of the New South Wales Bushmen ; Grace, a Victorian; Suttor, a 1 Queenslander; and Budley, of Tas--1 mania. > RETURNED INVALIDED COLONIALS. ) Received 6,1.15 a.m. j Hobabt, September 5. , The Whakatane bring* the following 3 invalided New Zealand treops:—Cor--3 poral McDonald, Troopers Bell, Currie, i Goulder and Kidney, Privates Prosser, i Sullivan, Thompson, and Von Blaren- - burjf.
