Referring to reciprocity, it regards the interest of New Zealand and the Commonwealth as clearly similar, and not affected by the fact that New Zealand is not within the Commonwealth, The prosperity of New Zealand detracts nothing, but rather adds to the prosperity of Australia. The Commonwealth and New Zealand make just such a combination as is calculated to bring out the best qualities of the race, ana iO them, whether joined or sundered, belongs in a peculiar way the JFate of the Pacific.
