A NORTH OF AUCKLAND RAILWAY WANTED.
[tm FBB3S ASSOOIAIIOIT. Auckland, August 27. The North Auckland Railway League met to-day, and resolved to strenuously urge the urgent necessity for a line of railway north of Auckland being carried on without delay, as far asj i Mauogaturoto, where it would reach a 1 payable point, and might with retaw be expected to earn a return equal to that obtained on the section between Auckland and Helensville. An opinion was expressed that the northern members had neglected this railway in favour of the Trunk Railway to Wellington, and it was stated that the railway could be made by private enterpriee if the Government failed to recognise its importance.
