Wellington, August 35, The Taranaki School team beat Wellington School team by thirteen points to nil. | AUCKLAND V. WELLINGTON. ! Auckland, August 25. I The Auckland and Wellington representative teams met at Epsom today in wretched weather, rain falling all day. The teams at the outset seamed well m»tcl)ed, but in the last quarter of an hour Auckland carried everything before them, and won by 14 points to 4. In the first spell Auckland got a try and Wellington failed to score. The game, however, was fairly even, and continued so throughout the greater part of the seeond spell. Hales, who played a grand game at full-back for Wellington, dropped a splendid goal from the field, making the score Wellington four Auckland three. It seemed an eveD chance which would win, till Auckland suddenly wakened up and added three tries to their soore, one being converted, the game ending as above. The forwards were well matched, but Auckland had the bcßt back division. Wellington, however, had the misfortune to lose Roberts, their centre three-quarter, early in the game, Arthur Williamson playing as substitute. Some four thousand people witnessed the match despite the wretched weather.

CANTERBURY V. OTAdO. Ohbistchukch, August 25. The mitcb between Canterbury and Otajjo, played at Lancaster Park to-day, was wun by Otago by eight points to nil. l'he game was very evenly contested throughout, and the southerner had little, if any, the better of tht play. The forwards were very equally matched, Canteroury's vanguard being rather better in loose work, whii Otago had the better of scrum work generally and individually. One or -wo of the Canterbury backs played a very good game, but they did not show to sucq advantage m combined work as the Otago backs.
