NO. 4 MIXTURE. £4 15s pb Ton. One-th'rd Lawes' Supekphosphatb One-third Thomas' Phosphate One-third Boug Dust This is a fiist-class Turnip Manure, and is spsoially recommended for wet or sour lands. SPECIAL POTATO MANURE£S PEB TOM. kainit i The addition of a small proportion of KilNiT to ariy of the Mixture is an advantage, and'cm be made without extra oharge if specifiid by the purohasers when giving the order. MIXING The Manures are not mixed until the orders are sent out, and purchasers at thei; option can have the original manures sent to them in the maker's bags, and make the mixtures themselves. SPECIAL MIXTURES can be made at any time to suit farmers.

Note—The "M" Manure gave t.. bosb results in proportion to cost out of 19 experiments with Champion Swede Turnips at the Government Experimental Farm at Momohaki in 1897 (see page 170, Fifth KeDort of Agricultural Department) : The experiments made at Momohaki with various Manures upon Turnips in the Season 1898-99 show that ihe bsst result was obtained from a mixture of one-third steamed bone dus<) and two-thirds basic s'ag (Thomas' Phosphate), whilst the best 1 mult, at a minimum cost, was from a I mixture of one-third Lawes' Superphos--1 phate and two-thirds of ths VV.M.E, Co's "M" Manure. The latter mixture contains the same components asthevV.M.E. Co.'s No. 3 Mixture, tbe proportions being a little different. The former combination points to the fact, now generally recognised, that the value of bacio slag, also know as Thomas' Phosphate, has been greatly under-estimated. The W.M.E. Co.'s No. 4 Mixture contains one-third of Thoma Phosphate. A perusal of the report Mr. Gillanders, the manager at Momohaki, embodying the results of the experiments referied to, which will be found in the Seventh Reporl of the Department of Agriculture, woild amply repay any farmer who finds a difficulty in eelectingche most suitabla manures.
