Note—The "M " Manure gave ... best . results, in proportion to cost out of 19 experiments with Champion Swede Turnips at the Government Experimental Film at Momohaki in 1897 (Eee page 170, Fifth Reooit of Agricultural Department) • The experiments made at Momohaki with various Manures upon Turnips in the Season 1898-03 show that die jisst result was obtained from a mixture of one-third steamed bono dust and two-thirds basic s'ag (Thomas' Phosphate), whilst the b3 t result, at a minimnm cos>-, was from a mixture of oue-tliird lawes' Superphosphate and two-thirds of thu W.M.E,Co's "M " Manure. The latter mixture' contains the same component asiheW.M.E, Co.'a No. 3 Mixture, tho proportions bein» a little different. The former com! ination points to the fast, now generally recognised, that the value of banc slag, also know as ThOTias' Phosphate, has been greatly under-estimated. The VV.M.E. Co.'s No. 4 Mixture contains one-third' of Thomas Phosphate.
