PRIVATE STORES FOR THE FRONT.

Wellington, August 16. His Excellency the Governor has received the following cable from the High Commissioner of Capetown, dated liJth August:—"Owing to the gre-.t difficulty in forwarding private stores to the front, it has been suggested by the Home authorities that senders of perishable goods, such as apples, etc., run great risk of such goods being wasted owing to delay ic despatching them. There are large accumulations already in Bouth Africi, and with only a single line of railway on which to forward them."
