THE NORTH ISLAND MAIN TRUNK RAILWAY.
(PISU pitias ASSOCIATIOX.] WnLUNQtoa, August 16, The Premier informed a deputation of Auckland mombera that the Financial Statement would disslose the intentions of the Government with reference to the North Island Main Trunk Railway works. Mr. Seddon ulso stated that he could not aocept a proposal put forward by the deputation that one-third of the unfinished portion of the line should be constructed within the year. He added that be did not think the Government proposals would tfive any causa for complaint.
