THE GRAND NATIONAL MEETING. (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) CHRIBTCHUKOH, August 14. The Grand National Steeplechase Meeting of theO.J.O. opened to day; in beautiful weather. The course was in capital order, and the attendance was large. The sum of £1 1,004 passed through the tote. Results:—
First Hunters Hurdles, of 50 govs.; once round and a distance—Long Tom, 11.5 (carried 11.12), 1; Uii, ll.lt), 2 ; Orasb, 11.3, 3. Mountebank, 12.5 (carried 12.12), Ferndale, 11.3 (carried 11.10), and Oadet, 11.3, also started. Won easily by ten lengths. Time, 3min. 17secs. Dividend,*.£4 5s 6d. Maiden Hurdles, of 150sors; one mile and three-quarters.—Record Reign, 12.12,1; Cceur-de-Lion, 10.11, 2; Halcyon, 9.0, 3. Dr. Bill 10.8, Paria 9.12, Right Metal 9.0, and Ejector 9.0 also started.
