3 NEWS FROM THE HOSPITAL. 1 5 Wellington, July 8. j The Premier has received the follows ing cable from Sir Alfred Milner, dated i Capetown, 6th : —" The following mes--5 sage from Dr. De Renzi to the Premier ] has been received : —' Inspected Wyre--3 burg hospital. All Colonial patients 1 spoke well of medical treatment, nurl sing, and food. There ara only convalescent patients at Maitland hospital, and 1 they are doing well. No chest com--5 plaints.'" Catiavan \ (IJljnheino), Heather (Auckland), Lindsiy (Tim-m), and Trooper Saunders , (-Suiiti.ila.nd) are returning to thecolony tiy tho Papmui." Also, on the same j date:-" The following are returning by tho Karamea; -Privates Davis (Waimangaroa), Findlay [there are i liree Findlays in the Contingents, and is is not clear who], Hurford (Doylesti n), Hilliar (Patea), Jackson (Dun--1 .-din), Meredith (Waikato). Newlick (Tuauv s), OrbeU(Waikcmiti), Strange i'e Aroha), Wilson [ten in the Oon•i -igents], Corporal Overton (Christhurch), Gunner Parsons (Ohristcliurch). ux Jowßuy reports that Private Knubley (Timaru) has recovered. Ddnedin, July 7. The invalided soldiers who returned by the Aotea are: —Sergeant-Major Gillespie, Kimberley Horse, a Blenheim resident; Corporal Hamilton, Blenheim ; Trooper Hope, Inglewood; Trooper Taylor, Wellington, but really of Oaiparu; Trooper Culling, Otago; and Trooper Smith, Waikato, all of the First Contingent. They arrived by train from south this morning, and were met by the Mayor and the Organising Committee and a largo numbur of the public, aud heartily welcomed, the Mayor making a wpecch. After Taylor and Culling had b.;un medically examined th 6 men were entertained at luncheon at the Grand Hotel, at which the Mayor presided. A number of toasts were proposed, Trooper Culling said he had been in three hospitals, and there was nothing in the complaints. Sergt,-Major Gillespie spoke in high terms of the lighting value of the New Zmilanders.
