ux Jowßuy reports that Private Knubley (Timaru) has recovered. Ddnedin, July 7. The invalided soldiers who returned by the Aotea are: —Sergeant-Major Gillespie, Kimberley Horse, a Blenheim resident; Corporal Hamilton, Blenheim ; Trooper Hope, Inglewood; Trooper Taylor, Wellington, but really of Oaiparu; Trooper Culling, Otago; and Trooper Smith, Waikato, all of the First Contingent. They arrived by train from south this morning, and were met by the Mayor and the Organising Committee and a largo numbur of the public, aud heartily welcomed, the Mayor making a wpecch. After Taylor and Culling had b.;un medically examined th 6 men were entertained at luncheon at the Grand Hotel, at which the Mayor presided. A number of toasts were proposed, Trooper Culling said he had been in three hospitals, and there was nothing in the complaints. Sergt,-Major Gillespie spoke in high terms of the lighting value of the New Zmilanders.
