THE PLAGUE.
CABES IK QUEENSLAND. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) [FEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received 3, 11.36 p.m.) Brisbane, July 3. I A boy named Frank Hagelocker and | J. Finigan, both employed in the city, have been attacked by plague. Wellington, July 3. The Postal Department is advised that upon the arrival of the Mariposa at 'Frisco on June Ist, passengers from Auckland, Samoa, and Honolulu were allowed to land on the day of arrival. After being examined by the medical officer, the passengers from Australia were landed at the quarantine station and their baggage fumigated, and they i were released on the following day. The Board of Health and the Federal - Quarantine Officer at 'Frisco assert ■{that twelve deaths from plague have ' occurred in Chinatown, 'Frisco, during the last two or three months, and they have consequently quarantined China-.JjMrß_-Tfee"G6vernor of the State and - rthe merchants of 'Frisco say that the ** deaths in Chinatown were not due to plague. They were bringing an action against the Board of Health the day the Mariposa left, asking them to show cause why quarantine should not be - raised. Meanwhile vessels are leaving San Francisco with clean bills of health.
