Sf it,—l believe our citizens have de, cidfid to hold a grand demonstration when peace is proclaimed, to take the fonn of a procession, etc. It will bo a grand object lesson to the youug generation, no doubt; but do you not think, sic, that we might go a step further and allow bur thankfulness to assume a more tangible form, viz. In the formation of a Technical School? I am sure that our young men would be only too ready to secure the advantages that would l)e offered tq them by having an institution like that named in our tovyn—an institution that would give them a better chance of competing on more even terms with the youths of other town*,. matter their consideration, and once the ball is started you will find that our boys will hold their own. It is no wonder that our young men promenade the streets so regularly when no effort is made to provide for their mental recreation. Some of your reader* will doubtless say lack of energy on their part, but you know, sir, the old truism of "old heads on young shoulders," [thanking you in anticipation.—l am, etc., T. Donovan.
