The question to what extent and under what circumstances a wife can ' pledge her husband's credit was decided to-day by Mr. Haselden, S.M., in the case Commercial Agency v. G. Fisher, jacj«iiji for boots supplied to defendi ant's wife. Judgment wept for djsftndaiit on three grounds, that credit : was gi\ on to the wife and not to the husband, that defendant had given express notice to tradesmen not to Ripply goods on his credit, and that dt fi ndaat had not neglected or refused to supply his wife with necessaries and I had forbidden her to pledge his credit.
