The addition of a small proportion of Kainit to any of the Mixture is an advantage, and oin be made without extra oWge if specified by the purchasers wren giving the order.

MIXING. The Manures are not mixed until the orders are sent out, and purchasers at thei; option can have the original manures si-nt to them in the maker's b»gs, and make the mixtures themselves. b FECIAL MIXTURBb can be made at any time to suit farmers. Note—The "M " Manure gave the best results in proportion to cost out of 19 experiments with Champion Swede Turnips at Ithe Government Kxpenmental Farm at Momohaki in 1897 (see page 170, Fifth ' Report of Agricultural D apartment) : The experiments mode at Momohaki with various Manures upon Turnips in the Reason 1898-99 show that ihe B«sr result was obta.ned from a mixture of one-'hird steamed bone dust and two-tnirds basic slag (Thomas' Phosphate), whilst the be<t result, at a minimum cos', was from a mixture of one-third JLawes* Superphosphate and two-thirds of the tV.M.E. Co's "M" Manure. The latter mixture contains the same components as *he VV.M.E. Co.'s No. 3 Mixture, the| roportions being a little differeut. The former coin* ination points to the fact, now generally recognised, that the value of batic slag, also known as Thomas' Phosphate, has been greatly under-eetimated. The W.M.E. Co.'s No. 4 Mixture contains one-third of Thomas' Phosphate. A pernsal of the report of Mr. Gillanders, the manager at Momohaki, embodying the results of th« experimants referred to, whioh will be found in the Seventh Report of the De partment of Agriculture, would amply re. pay any farmer who finds a difficulty it (electing the most suitable manures.
