INTERIM THIS Company U keing fornud to work a Special Dredging Claim taken up, in Sep9,by Roderick Poison, a.id situated on the Otago Gold Fields at the junction of the Olutha and Lindis lUvtrp, consisting of half-mile of the Olutha River and the low- auriferous llat on the East bank (about 80 acres). The Flat has been prospected u ' al ? t } b y tlie well-known mining expert, Mr. John Don. As the value ot the bottom wash could not be l estcd without great expanse, Mr. Don sank paddocks to the water level only, with gratifying results, the brst prospects reaching 10 grains to the yard. In his repo.-1, which U a lengthy one, and may be seen at the office of the Welling, i ton Brokers, he•say,.: ''l should advise launching tlio dredge iu the river at the head of tho Olaim where iHEIIB IS A HIGH RIDGIS OF KICH GOLD-BEARING GRAVEL running mla.nd. ibis portion of the Claim is lich enough to pay splendidly. The Vendors have gone to considerable expense in prospecting the Olaim and obtaining the report of a first-class miniug expert, in order to find out definitely the real nature of the ground and its richness. They, however, will take no cash in return, and agree 1 not to dispose of any paid up shares until the dredge is at work. At a time when so many Companies are floated to work ground which is entirely unproved, attention is drawn to Mr. Don's fctitemeut "THAT THERE IS NO RISK OF *ti LV J^ DWm A CEKXAIf *TY OF GETTING GOOD RETURNS FROM liHfl OIAKI. LETTER FROM ALEX BEATTIE. Me. Richard Polson. 7th May 1900 Deab Sir,-I am pleased to state that your Claim in Olutha River, situated at Lindis Junction, is well-known to me, and that I am quite sure it will pay splendidly for dredging. I have worked on the banks of your Olaim aud on my adjoining license for a stood number of years and made from £2 to £4 par week out of the ground by putting the stuff through a foo.i sluice-box, lifting it sometimes eight and ten feet with a long-handle shovel. lam sure you have: a good claim, and one that will last and give good returns for many j ears. —Yours faithfully, Alkx Beattie. The Maori Dredge (small and not up-to date) has been working in tho vicinity on the river for the last two months. Her returns are ai follows: 200z5., 300za., 25iosss, (3& days) ; 47ozs. and 28ozs. (for 3 days) ; 21ozs. and 27ozj. per week. Mr. Wm, Faithful, of Lindis, asks for 200 contributing shires to be reserved for him. Mr. Bowie, merchant, Uromweil, takes 50 shares and says: "It is ideal dredging ground and good yields may be expected." K K 1000 Shares reserved for Oimaru and Timaru, 1000 for.Dunedin, 500 for Cromwell. , , M „ r - Payne the consulting engineer, estimates that a thoroughly equipped modern dredge can be placed on the claim at about £iisoo ; this enables the capital to kept low making dividends proportionately F Flo The cost of incorporatioa and fljtation will be borne by the Oompany □ Tho Vendors Agreement is dated the 4th day of May, 1900, and is made between Roderick Poison, of the one pa-c, and John Beck Finlay, on behalf of the Oompany, of the other part, and may be saeti at ihi office of the Wellington brokers, together with tho originals ot the reports before referred tj, 6 u A R/APPLIED A FOR WILL LE REGISTERED WHEN 5000 SHARES 12,16,19,23
