MB. Nbwton Kino reports:—At the Haymarket, on Saturday, small pigs made 2s 6d t to 5s 6d; stores, 7s to 13s; horses, £1 to £4 ' 16s ; horse, gig, and harness, £25. At the Mart fowls made lOd to, Is 3d; chickens, 8d; ducks, Is 8d to Is 9d; turkeys, 3s 6d to 5s 6d; potatoes, 3s to 4s 6d; onions, ljd. Cattle.—At Stratford, on Tuesday, there was a big muster of stock and large attendance. 18-months to 2-year steers were in strong demand, and sold at excellent prices. Good strong calves and yearlings were well competed for, and nearly all sold at the hammer at about late rates. Store cows and 18-months heifers were a bit easier than last gale. Good heifers in calf and, forward springers nearly all sold at satisfactory prices. Weaners made 7s 6d to 17s 6d; strong calves, LI Is 6d to LI 9s; calves to yearlings, LI 13s to LI 15s 6d; 15 to 18-months steers, L2 lis; 18 to 20-months steers, L32s6d to L 3 4s 6d; 2i to bullocks, L 4 3s to L 4 lls6d; 18-months heifers, L2 4s to L2 ss; 18-months to 2-year heifers in calf, L 3 4s to L 3 7s 6d; springers, L 3 Is to L 4 10s; store cows, LI 10s to 13, 25; fresh cows, L2 5s to L2l6s; fat cows, li 3 ss. At Stony Biver, on Wednesday, the yards were fall and bidding was very brisk. All young stock sold well, nearly every line selling at the hammer at excellent prices. Auckland, June 8. Messrs. Bncklaod and Sods report:— Horses.—At the Haymarket, on Friday, entries were up to averages in number. The greater portion were of second class stamp. There were no young heavy horses offered, bat many aged draughts changed hands at prices varying from u i 0 to L 23 each. Seven spring cart and waggon horses advertised ol account of Mr, F. Atkinson realised very satisfactory figureß, the lot being disposed of under the hammer—a waggon pair, L 53; spring-cart horses, LI 4 to L 23 each, according to age; aged farm horses, VJ 10s to LI 2; young strong 'bus horses, L 8 to LlO 10j; ordinary hacks, L 4 to LB. Hay and Btraw.—At our sales on Friday and Tuesday last, bay offered in excess of requirements. Good meadow brought 3s pw cwt. only, with an odd load at 2s 6d, Straw was scarce, and at high prices, selling at 15a to LI 4s the load; pressed hay, 3s 6d j the cwt.; straw, 2s 6d. Several casks passed in, owners seeking higher values. Rough fat, l£d to lfd per lb.; horse hair, in bad condition, Is; bones, L 5 per ton. The Waiuku yards were fairly well filled on Saturday last, and good values obtained. Dairy cows brought from L 4 5s to L 6 10s; 3-year-old steers, L 4 10s; calves, 15» to LI 10s; yearlings, up to L2 8s each. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cows, yarded in larger numbers than usual, were required. Prices for those at profit ranged from L 45s to L 82s 6d each. Store cows were from LI 17s to L 3 2s 6d; grown steers, L 3 19s to L 4 12s 6d each. Fat calves, in less than average numbers, were at late values. Fresh dropped, 3s to 7s; medium, 9s to 14s; heavy, up to L2 each (57 sold). Fat cattle, penned in average number and of a better quality than last week, were firm at from 18s to LI Is the 1001b. for steers and heifers; cows, 14s to 17s; steers ranged in price from L 6 to Lll; cows, L2 10s toLB 5s (220 sold). Fat sheep, short of requirements, increased in value. Wethers brought fiom 12s 6d to 18s 6d; ewes, 10s to 15s id; hoggets, 6s to 13s 3d each (1300 sold), btore sheep, 9s to 12s each. Figs improved in price.
