THE PLAGUE.
HAWAII FREE OF THE DISEASE. [PES PRESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received 2, 9.55 a m.) Brisbane, June 2, The Hawaiian Consul has been notified frop Honolulu that Hawaii is declared free of plague. THE OUTBREAK IN SYDNEY. Received 3, 6 p.m. Sydney, June 3. So few people are availing themselves of inoculation that the Board of Health views the heavy expense of maintaining a special staff as useless, and is considering the question of stopping. The President says if the people think Sydney is done with the phgue they are much mistaken. It may be dying out, but is not dead, and probably every now and then there will be an increase of cases.
Fresh cases are: James Wilson, Bose Bay; Richard Jones, Burwood; Stanley Chkes, Balmain (all school boys); John Fox, a temporary employee in the quarantine station ; John Pierd, city. John Wilkins, Mittigong, left Sydney on Wednesday, and was then indisposed. [< (Received 4, 1.30 a.m.) Sydney, June 3. There were no plague cases to-dßy. Wilson and Jonts are dead.
