Received 31, 9.10 a.m. London, Mi.y 20. The Daily Mail's Kipling poem fund has provided 1000 kits for British prisoners in Pretoria. Melb-juhne, May 31, Twelvo wives and relatives of soldiers serving in South Afri a have applied for relief from tLo Patriotic Fund, and have been granted from 10s to 20s per week.
The Primier has communicated with Mr. Chamberlain with a view of obtaining permission to present medals to Vietoriau troops,serving in the war. Corporal Fuller, of the Gordon Highlanders, arrived with the invalided soldiers. He was in the same ward at the Capetown hospital as the Australians, and went aboard the Moravian to see them off, and did not discover the steamer had started till it was well out to sea. The Minister for Defence has arranged his return by the Warrisal
to-day.
