PBB PBESS ASSOCIATION. (Received 30, 9.10 a.m.) London, May 29, Herr Borchgrevinck, the Antarctic explorer, has arrived in London. In the division in the House of Lords the Prince of Wales and the Dukes of York and Connaught voted for the Deceased Wife's Sister Bill, and Lords Salisbury and Halsbury, the Archbishop of York, and Bishop Moorhouse against it. Lord Oarrington cited the case of the Rev. G. Poynter, a Church of England minister in Victoria, who was recently suspended for twelve months by the Bishop of the diocese for marrying his deceased wife's sister. The Bill passed its second reading by 116 to 31.
(Received 30,10 p.m.) Sydney, May 30. The news of the capture of Johannesburg caused another outburst of enthusiasm, The city was bedecked with bunting. The public schools' Mafeking day demonstration at the Cricket Grounds, previously postponed owing to rain, was most successful. Twenty thousand ; children took part. The chief features were the parade of the cadets and the singing of patriotie airs by a choir of three thousand children, with a grand chorus of twelve thousand. The fins weather for the weekly halfholiday was responsible for an attendance of over thirty thousand. The proceeds will go to the Patriotic Fund,
