OPERATIONS IN THE FREE STATE.
A BOER DODGE. (Received 21, 9.5 a.m.) London, May 20. The Boers from Bethlehem tire returning there from the south, and are trying to draw General Rundle into the hill country north of Ficksburg. LARGE FORCE OF BOERS OFFER TO SURRENDER. THEIR CONDITIONS WERE NOT ENTERTAINED. Received 22,1.12 a.m. London, May 21. De Wet (not the famous fighting general of that name) offered to surrecder with a thousand men at Lindley if they were sent to their farms. They were bidden to surrender unconditionally.
