OBITUARY.

[PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, May 21. Obituary: Captain Dawson, a wellknown seaman, who was in command of the Weathersfield, when he retired from the sea in 1893. A private telegram reports the death of Mr. E. W. Titchener, Chief Engineer of the Wareatea. The police have received word of the death, at Blenheim, of Mr. G. Harris, ftged 66, a clerk in the Crown Solicitor's Office, from the effects of poison called " Death to Birds," which he mistook for quinine and iron.
