KINEMATOGRAPH ENTERTAINMENT.

Messes. CJoopisk & MacDermott, pro- ] prietors of the Edison Kiuematograph I Company, gave their entertainment to a packed audience at tho Theatre Koyal on Friday night; in fact, many had to be refused seats on account of the crush. The series of war pictures, both myrioramic and kinematographic, evoked great applause, especially those of the famous Highland regiments and the Colonial Contingents. The colossophone rendered a number of musical items, including solos, quartettes, and marches, every one of which was heard with perfect distinctness in all parts of the Theatre. Space does not permit of our giving a! detailed report of the entertainment, 1 suffice it to say that the large audience showed full appreciation of the various items. This afternoon a matinee will be given, when, amongst other novelties, the adventures of Cinderella will be illustrated by the kinematograph. The management have fixed prices that will enable families to take advantage of the occasion. The company will give another performance to-night, when, with a few exceptions, the programme will be quite different, being a continuation of the story of the war, but in no way inferior to the first part. To-morrow evening a sacred programme will be given after church services, when "The Story of tho Cross " will be illustrated by beautiful living pictures, and the colossophone will give some fine sacred selections; equal to any singing heard in New Zealand. Wherever given, this excellent service is pronounced "an intellectual treat."
