THORNDON SCHOOL BURNED.
[PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, May 16. The Thorsdon School was burned down this morning. It was infuuvd The fire is attributed to a defective chimney. Fiies wore used for the fust time yssterday. Flames were notice d about 3 a.m. The building was <corupletely destroyed, but the infnn'; tch ol w.is saved. The head-master, Mr. Mowbray, lost about £l5O worth of private property. The loss is estimated at £4OOO.
