EFFECT ON THE FROZEN PRODUCE TRADE. (Received 18, 6.80 p.m.') Sydney, May 12, The local representative of a big London firm which conducts extensive business in frozen produce from Sydney has received a cable not to send any more New South Wales produce. The countermanding of orders is believed to be due to the plague.
PRINTERS HEAD THE LIST OB 1 PATIENTS. (Reoewed 13, 5.25 p.m.) Sydjjby, May 13. A fresh case is Eliza Jennings, Paddington. Statistics show that 65 cases havo occurred within the city proper. Paddington heads the suburban record with 18 cases, Redfern being next with 15. The printing trade heads the list of patients, labourers and hotel and restaurant employees being next. (Received 14,1.27 a.m.) Sydney, May 13. Fresh cases are: Emily Tobin, Maney; James Sloane, Leichardt; Albert Wadison, city. Death: A girl named Palmore.
GETTING THE DISEASE UNDER CONTROL. (Received 13, 5.25 a.m.) Sydney, Hay 13. The President of the Bo&id of Health states that there are indications of the plague coming within control. A DEATH IN MELBOURNE. (Received 12, 9.45 a.m.) , Melbourne, May 12. The man Byron, who was suspected to be suffering from plague, and wad quarantined at Port Melbourne, is dead. A cat was found in a building in Flinders-street infected with plague germs.
. Received 12, 8.30 p.m. Melbourne, May 12. Alfred Hands, fireman on H.M.S, Oerebu?, has been attacked by ptagae. The crew and the patient's home at Fitzroy, which he visited yesterday, have been quarantined.
THE OASE AT ADELAIDE. Received 12, 9.45 a.m. Adelaide, May 12. The Gera's fireman is suffering from plague. DISAPPEARANCE OF THE DISEASE IN NOUMEA. (Received 14,1.15 a.m.) Noduka, May 13. The plague has quite disappeared* There has been no case, either in town or oouotry, for over a month. Nearly all the rats have been exterminated. Vessels from Australian ports land cargo at a special wharf, and passengers land immediately, but must report for twelve days.
NKW ZEALAND PRECAUTIONS. Wellington, May 12. Owing to difficulties connected with ' he bond system ia the South, the Colonial Secretary has decided to revert to the soven days' quarantine from time of departure from tin infected poit.
