PRAISE FROM LORD ROBERTS AND [- GENERAL FRENCH. Reoeived 6, 6 p.m. 1 London, May 5. I Lieut.-General French's despatches dealing with the fighting round Oolesberg in the earlier part of the year commends excellent conduct and bearing of the New Zealanders, and specially mentions Major Robin's signal services. The General also states that Major Maddocks is well worthy of recognition. Lord Roberts adds a note that the Now Zealanders especially distinguished themselves.
