TARANAKI GUARDS ACCEPTED. [PER press association.] Wellington, April 26. The Volunteer regulations have been amemred, making the maximum number for engineer aud mounted corps 84 men and officers, and the minimum 50. The services of the following volunteer corps have been accepted:—Rifles: Taranaki Guards, Mercantile Rifles .(Invercargill), Huntly Rifles. Mounted Corps: Ashburton, Pahiatu >, Marsden, Takaka, South Wairarapa. Cadets: No. 2 Company, Nelson College. The Te Aroha Rifles have been changed to Mounted Rifles. The balance-sheet of the Kaitangata Fund, published in the Oasetle, shows a balance in hand of £(5215, being £3715 in cash and £2500 estimated valuo of mortgage security in default.
