ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
(MSB PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, Aprfl 25. A Maori lad Darned Tamata Hawea, four years of ago, son of Epiha Hawea, was drowned in the Okaki River thia morning while bathing. W. B. Beveridge, of Olutha, rending at the Central Hotel under the uud# of McKenzie, was found in bed this morning. Apparently ha had | taken an orer-doae of chlorodyns. iu inquest will be held. A young half-caste Hori, aged about 21, was riding into Bui* haka on Saturday, when his hone stumbled and threw him. The hone was killed instantaneously, and Hori received very severe injuries about the bead. He was quite uaconsaions, and remained so until Tuesday morning, when ho passed away, Tbe native* refused to take him to the hospital or to call in a doctor.
