COLONIAL TROOPS AT THE FRONT.
MEW ZEALANDERS RECOVERED FROM ILLNESS. DEATH OF TWO NEW SOUTH WALES MEN. Received 21,10.35 a.m. London, April 20. Hudson, Findlay, S&underson, and Casaidy, New Zealanders, have recovered.
Major Robin has assured Mr. Beeves that the If ew Zealanders are greatly cheered by the interest the colony evinces in their movements and by the sending of comforts. Lieutenant Basche and Trooper Bender, of the New South Wales Mounted Infantry, have died of enteric fever.
The New South Wales troops greatly appreciate Mr. F. Dacgar's and the Ladies Duff and Hampden's presents cf comforts.
At the instance of Lady Tennyson, wife of the Governor of South Australia, her sister-in-law has appealed for funds to purchase winter clothing and cooi forte for the South Australians at the front.
Adelaide, April 21. The Eastern Extension Cable Company has notified that it is prepared to transmit messages from relatives to members of Australian Contingents at the reduced rate of 2s 6d per word. The Cape postal department does not levy a local rate on such messages. Chbistchdech, April 21.
Mrs. Neave has received a letter from the Queen sympathising with her on the death of her son, Lieutenant Neave.
