PUPIL TEACHERS.
The Inspector's reoommendations submitted to the Education Board on Wednesday were as follow:—That W. R. Moore (D;, F. Smith (D), L. Bicheno (E), Ellen Hepworth (E), having gained certificates at the recent examination of teachers, be gi anted exemption from examination, excepting in school management; and that M. 11. Brownlee and F. Thompson, also pupil teachers, be granted exemption, except in school management, drawing, music, and needlework, on account of having passed matriculation. That a matriculated candidate for a pupil teachership shall, if appointed, be graded as a second year pupil teacher. Any pupil teacher who shall, pass the matriculation shall, on that account, if he so desires it, have his status raised one year, but not higher than that of a third year pupil teacher. Promotions under this head not to carry increase of salary for the year in which the examination was passed,
