A MAN SHOT DEAD BY A FRIEND. AN INFANT LEFT WITH THE MURDERER. THE MURDERER GIVES HIMSELF INTO CUSTODY. [PBB PBE3B ASSOCIATION.] (Received 6,1.22 a,m.) Sydney, April 5. A tragedy occurred at Kemp3ey. A man named Lawsou, with his wife and infant, were speeding the-eveniDg with a friend named Handcock. Lawson was playing the violin, when Handcock seized a rifle and ehot him. Mrs. Liwson rushed oat, leaving the baby. The residents did not dare approach Handcock's till the morniDg.. , Lawson was found dead, but tie baby safe. Handcock had gone. While the i(.quest was proceeding, Handccck walked into the room carryI ing his rifle. He did not resist arrest. The man is believed to be insane.
