■RETURNS FROM THE OLD COUNTRY.
[PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION.] Duredin, April 4. Dr. Verdon, Roman Catholic Bishop, returned from a visit to Rome and the Home Country to-night. He reached town shortly after 7, and was met by a very large crowd at the railway station, headed by a band. There was a toi chlight procession to St. Joseph's' Cathedral, which was crowded. Addresses of welcome were presented by the | clergy and laity and the Confraternity lof the Sacred Heart. Bishop Verdon, |in the course of his reply, mentioned I that Dean McKay had been appointed [by the Pope a domestic prelate, with j the title of " right reverend consignor," and Dean O'Leary had the [title of " monsignor " conferred.
