THE OUTBREAK IN SIDNEY. ANOTHER CASE REPORTED. [Br Electkic Telegraph.—Copyright.] fPBB PBHSS ASSOCIATION.] (Received 23,11.15 p.m.) Sydney, March 23. Another case of plague has been reported. The victim is a man named ! Haydon, residing at Marrickville, who had been engaged in work in Sussex - street. An active crusade has been inaugurated against dirty premises in the city and suburbs, and many persons have been heavily fined for neglect in this respect, ANOTHER DEATH. I (Received 24, 1.20 a.m.) Sydney, March 23. A man named Kelly died suddenly at Surrey Hills. It is reported tbat it is a case of plague. Precautions have been taken pending a post mortem. (Received 24, 1.50 a.m.) Sydney, March 23. A proclamation was issued to-night quarantining the infected area, including Kent-street. A cordon of police surrounds it, and residents have been given the option of remaining or being removed to the quarantine station.
I The Cabinet eat throughout to-day considering the plague regulations. It was decided to extend the proclaimed area to Sussex-street. Shipping companies and business people are busy moving, and all the men are engaged in cleansing. Most of the residents in the proclaimed district have been inoculated. PRECAUTIONS IN TASMANIA. (Received 24, 1.20 a.m.) Hobart, March 23. The Government has declared Sydney an infected port. Pratique will not be granted to vessels till five days' departure from Sydney. THE GOVERNMENT EXPERT. Wellington, March 23. The Government has been advised that Mr. Gilrutb, wfco was sent to Sydney in connection with the outbreak of plague then', will leave Sydney for New Zealand by the Zealandia, via Melbourne, to-morrow.
