A quantity of sundries ' was disposed of at low rates. Fruit.—The following prices wen realised daring the week:—Apples, 4s to 7i per ease; apples, 2a to 3s per box; pears, 8s to 4s 6d per box; pears (choice), 2Jd per lb; peaches, 4s 6d to 6a; peaohes (bad order), Is to 8*; tomatoes, 2s to 8a; cape gooseberries, 4i; passion, 2s 3d; cuoumbers, Is 6d to 2s ; lemons, 3a 6d; plums, 4a to 6s; quinoes, 4s 6d; grapes, 7d to lid; grapes (cboioe), Is 2d. Cattle. —At Wainakaiho on Tuesday then was a smaller mutter than for some time; very few young cattle came forward, but there were three or four good lines of 8§ to 5-year-old bullocks. Good strong oaives were well competed for, and nearly all sold at satisfactory prices. Big steers and bollocks were passed at the hammer, but were nearly all placed after the sale. Buckland and Hons report:—At the Haymarket auction sales, meadow bay sold at from 2s to 3s 6d per cwt; straw/mm 9s to LI 4s per loai; males, Is 6d per bushel, ex store; 2s 4d, ex wharf. At the horse sale on Friday, a huge nna> ber were yarded. Good sound hones, with trials, brought from LlO to L 22 each; light harness horses from L 6 to LlO. On Tuesday, hides sold freely. Ox bides, 4Jd to 5d per lb; cow hides, 4d to 444} calf skins, 4-J-d ti SJd; skins, from Is 8d to 3s each; lambs' wool, 4sd to 6fd per lb. | crossbred, 5Jd to 6£d; looks and pieces, 8d; tallow, from 16s to LI 4s per cwt. At the country sales, held at Fokeno on Monday and Runciman on Wednetdty, ft large number of rattle were offered, ne»rij all finding buyers at late prices. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cowa, yaixled in less number than usual, were required. Prioes for those at profit warn from 1,4 12s 6d to L 7 each. Fat calves, in full supply, were at late value*. Fat cattle, in average numbers, were at lata values, and brought from 17s to 19s the 1001b for steers and heifers; aged cowa, 18> to 14s. Prices for steers were from Lsss to L 9 ss; cows, L 4 to 16 17s Cd each (Ktt sold). Fat sheep, yarded in average supply, were at last week's values. Wethers brought from 10s to lis (ii; ewes, 7s fid to 12» 64 each. Lamb*, yardod in fair numbers, were required, and brought from 6s 6d to 12s 3d each (1400 sold). Few pips were yarded.
