THE WELLINGTON VOLUNTEERS.
COMPLAINTS AS TO SHOOTING ! ARRANGEMENTS. [PEE PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, March 20. Complaint is made that the shooting arrangements of the Wellington Volunteers are all behindhand. The competition for silver medals fpr last year has not yet been held, and some men who were qualified have left the companies to which they belonged. The only range in town is in an unsatisfactory state, because the want of mounds makes it impossible for more than two men to fire at once. Another cause of complaint is the failure to gazette regulations for the Cup presented by the Governor, It is alfo alleged that [the sighting t-f the Martini rifles is defective, some cf them being 100 yards out. Local Volunteers do not like the idea of holdiog an Easter encampment at the Eutt. It is now five years since a camp was held away from Wellington, and the man consider it is time the site was changed, An agitation is on foot to have it al'ered to Palmarston or Wanganui.
